The last Code-Breaker
In 2020, in the suburbs of Paris, Fayçal Ziraoui, a young, curious, and playful polytechnic student, accidentally discovers the Zodiac case, which originated in the late 60s in San Francisco. A killer terrified the population, staged his crimes, and bombarded newspapers and the police with enigmatic letters containing cryptograms. The killer vanished without a trace. After half a century of hopes, failures, and various twists and turns, the investigation is at a standstill.
50 years later, Fayçal gets involved in deciphering the Z32 and Z13, the last two codes sent by the killer that would supposedly reveal his identity. In his quest, the mathematician delves into the world of "sleuths," those amateur investigators who have taken to the internet, retraces the origins of the crimes, and gets inside the killer's mind. His investigation quickly turns into an obsession, pushing him to the brink of madness.
Will his quest for the truth lead him to solve one of the most enigmatic cold cases in history?
