Is your smartphone spying on you?

More info

In this documentary, Alexis Conran (Times Radio, The Real Hustle) explores the claims that smartphones and tech companies might be listening in on users and collecting a vast amount of personal data. The doc aims to investigate the extent of surveillance and the potential privacy implications. He’ll set up fun and informative social experiments, such as one with a screen-obsessed family whereby each member is followed for days as they say a key word in the presence of their phone, without typing it in. A week later, Alexis is surprised to find out whether the phones have been offering up adverts for those particular products. How do our phones seem to know what products we’re looking to buy before we’ve even started to search for it, and what can we do to stop that?

Alexis will speak to the victims of phone spying, and tech and consumer experts, who can shed light on the topic once and for all.
