Bride in Search of Happiness

“Bride in Search of Happiness” is a participatory-observational documentary about a Croatian-Roma couple, Tea and Mirsad, their daughter Frida, and their attempt at a life together—torn between family pressures and the compromises they are both willing to make.

The "dowries" they have received are economically and culturally virtually incompatible, leaving them with the thankless challenge of balancing family baggage pinned to them as a legacy of previous generations on the path between Croatia and Kosovo. Bound by a desire to find a solution to their families' unrealistic expectations, Tea and Mirsad embark on a complex game of adaptation that ultimately proves to be a burden on their own intimacy.
